It’s 85 degrees out on my back porch today, and I am craving something cool and refreshing.  Doesn’t an iced-cold popsicle sound good right about now?  I can taste it already.  Popsicles are my favorite summer time treat because they are easy to make and can be made with all wholesome, REAL food ingredients.  Here’s 25 of my favorite homemade popsicle recipes to keep you cool and refreshed all summer long. 

Homemade popsicles are a fun and healthy project you can do with the little ones.  You can make them out of just about anything.  All you really have to do is blend some things up in the blender and pour them into some cute little popsicle molds.  They are so many different ones out these days.  I prefer the BPA free molds that I got last year.  My girlfriend just got the stainless steel ones.  I may have to invest in those ones too.

I’ve been making all sorts of popsicles since the weather got warm.  My kids love the coconut freezer pops that I make with fresh fruit.  My personal favorite was the Basil Lime Watermelon ones I made last week.  I actually have some Pink Grapefruit Mojito Popsicles in the freezer right now.

💗 learning to regulate my nervous system has be 💗 learning to regulate my nervous system has been a BIG part of my healing journey • my nervous system was dysregulated from many years of chronic stress • learning to signal safety to my body and lowering cortisol levels has allowed my nervous system to settle 

💗 the body doesn’t differentiate stress • work stress, financial stress, emotional stress, toxic burden stress (mold, heavy metals, parasites, etc), lifestyle stress (poor eating, lack of exercise, poor sleep) ... it’s all the same • and it puts to body in a high cortisol state 

💗 healing and detoxification is a parasympathetic process • it cannot happen if the body is always timed ON 

💗 cortisol affects so many things in the body: 

- lowers metabolism (weight gain)
- affects thyroid function
- decreases sex hormones,  especially progesterone (fertility issues)
- affects digestion (gas, bloating, heartburn)
- decreases body’s ability to detoxify 

💗 the body doesn’t let go if it doesn’t feel safe • signaling safety on a regular basis to the nervous system helps the body let go of:

- traumas/emotions
- toxicities
- parasites
- excess toxic water weight (fat is a storage place for toxins)

💗 my favorite ways to regulate the nervous system: 

- slow down in every aspect of life 
- stop over-scheduling yourself 
- meditation 
- binaural beats 
- prioritizing good sleep 
- getting out in nature 
- breath work 
- snuggling (partners, kids, pets)
- getting enough calories and nutrient-dense foods 
- laughter 
- dancing 
- connections with people who light you up 
- staying well hydrated with minerals 
- addressing traumas/woundings
- regular movement (but don’t over-exercise)
