Quick and easy broiled salmon recipe. Perfectly seared on the outside and flaky and juicy on the inside. Ready in just 10 minutes.
If you’re anything like me, you want (and need) dinner on the table without a lot of fuss. Your life is probably just as full as mine and includes other humans that like to be fed on a regular basis.
I’ve got just the thing for you! Easy broiled salmon.
If you’ve never broiled your salmon, you’re in for a real treat. The intense heat from the broiler leaves the salmon with a nice sear on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. Restaurant quality salmon made easily at home.
When it comes to fast and easy weeknight dinners, this recipe is simply the best. Add in a couple vegetable sides like roasted delicata squash and steamed kale, and you’re good to go. My hubby loves it with garlic roasted potatoes. Don’t you just love fuss free meals?
And the flavor options for broiling salmon are endless. A little salt and pepper with a squeeze of lemon is all you need as salmon is amazingly delicious all on it’s own. But I also love both the Primal Palate Seafood Seasoning or their New Bae Seasoning. Simply sprinkle on a generous amount of either seasoning spice and pop it in the oven. Don’t forget to add a bit of butter or ghee to get a nice crispy top.
How long you broil your salmon depends on how you like it cooked. The sweet spot seems to be between 8-10 minutes. I like my salmon slightly pink in the middle, and 8 minutes is perfect. If you prefer it completely cooked, yet moist and juicy, 10 minutes is your magic number. .
A note about salmon:
Salmon is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamin B, and potassium and is a great addition to a clean eating diet. I’m a big fan of wild-caught salmon versus farm-raised because of it’s higher nutritional value and less exposure to contaminates and antibiotics. I’ve been getting wild Alaskan salmon from Butcher Box. It comes from the pristine waters of Bristol Bay, Alaska and tastes amazing. They recently added it permanently to their online butcher menu. Cooking Tips:
- I prefer skin-on salmon for this recipe, but skinless works just fine too. Be sure to oil the baking tray extra well if you use skinless salmon.
- Do not use a glass baking dish for broiling. The high heat can cause the glass to crack. Use either a metal baking sheet or a cast iron skillet.
- I’ve seen recipes call for broiling on parchment paper. I do not recommend this. The parchment paper gets charred and smokey. I just oil the pan or skillet well before broiling. You can also use tin foil to cover your pan.
- Set your broiler to HIGH if you have the option. This intense heat will give you just the right sear on the outside.
