Holiday season is upon us, and the mad holiday shopping has begun. This year, I highly recommend you think out of the box when it comes to holiday giving and stay out of the stores. Here’s a creative holiday gift guide for lazy shoppers like myself.
Is it really December already? I’m actually glad because 2016 has been quite a year, and I’m sort of ready for it to be over. Here’s to a better year in 2017! May our world see more peace, health, and happiness.
I’m not a big commercial gift giver. Homemade gifts always mean so much to me. In past years, I have made candles, cordials, fire cider, holiday cookies, elderberry syrup, and countless food related gifts. But this year since I am away for 6 weeks on my healing journey, I will have to get a bit creative with my holiday giving. And since I REALLY dislike shopping, it’s going to have to be all online.
Today I have compiled some creative holiday gift ideas for the special people in your life. These are all gifts that people will actually use or that will make their lives healthier and happier. We can all use a bit more of that in our lives, right?
Wishing you and yours a cozy and love-filled holiday season. Remember to tell the people around you how much you love and appreciate them. Because life is precious, and time is short.

Holiday Gift Guide for the Lazy Shopper
Gifts of Love
My number one choice for holiday gifting is the gift of love. Gifts that give back are a great way to give and to create more goodness in the world. You can buy a goat for a family. You can support refugees in desperate need. You can support causes like the water protectors at Standing Rock. This is a gift that will truly be appreciated and makes everyone feel good. Here are some of my favs:
Oxfam Gifts The ultimate in meaningful gifts for the holidays. Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. Gifting options include livestock, building wells for clean water, emergency supplies, school supplies, building gardens and so much more.
Surfrider Foundation The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.Without clean waters, there is no life.
SEVA Foundation Seva Foundation partners worldwide to create self-sustaining programs that preserve and restore eye sight. Your gift will be put to work immediately to restore sight and prevent blindness in some of the most isolated and resource-poor communities in the developing world. Whether it’s through surgery, glasses, medicine, outreach or technician training geared toward creating sustainable eye care programs for the future, your gift will make a lasting impact for generations to come.
Kitchen Gear
I’m all about getting people back in the kitchen to cook homemade meals. Having the right kitchen tools is key to making life easier in the kitchen. Here’s my top picks for the foodies in your life:
Paderno Spiralizer Pro Every foodie needs this fun little gadget. You can make vegetable noodles out of so many things. Zucchini. Butternut squash. Sweet potato. And even apple.
Hand Held Vegetable Spiralizer A smaller version to easily make zucchini noodles.
Instant Pot Similar to a slow cooker but WAY better. Cooks rice in 5 minutes. Soups that usually take 6 hours in a slow cooker are done in about 30 minutes. And you can cook a whole roast in an hour or 2. Great gift for the foodies in your life. Or busy moms.
Dutch Oven A classy, practical gift for any foodie in your life. Makes cooking a roast or whole chicken super easy.
Immersion Blender Anyone who likes to cook, even just a little bit, needs this in their kitchen. Use it to make soups, mashes, 30 second mayo, 30 second whipped cream and much more. It’s so much more convenient than transferring everything into a blender and then back.
Le Creuset Enamel-on-Steel 6-Quart Covered Stockpot You guys know that I am big fan of bone broth. Easily make weekly bone broth and soups to keep the family healthy in this beautiful stockpot. I just love the color.
Real Plans
Because eating good food should be easy. But we all know people get busy and can use a bit of help in the kitchen. Real Plans is a meal planner with super powers. And the plans are customizable to family size, eating habits, and preferences. Gluten free, dairy free, paleo, vegetarian- it’s all covered. Monthly, quarterly or annual Real Plans subscriptions are available for purchase. Gift-givers simply enter the date they’d like to notify the recipient of their new subscription so you can shop ahead. Check out Real Plan HERE.
Safe Skincare
You guys know that I’m a huge advocate for safe personal care products. Because it really does matter what we put in our skin. I’ve searched for years for a company that has clean products that actually perform the way that I want then to. Last year I partnered with Beautycounter because I LOVE their mission and I LOVE LOVE their products. So give the beauty queen in your life the gift of safe skincare. Beautycounter has some amazing holiday gift sets this year with cleaner cosmetics and safer skincare products for every beautiful lady in your life. Check out the gift sets HERE.
Healthy Living
Give the gift of health with these simple and sensible gifts.
CSA Box Subscription Community Supported Agriculture ( CSA) is a prepaid subscription to a farm’s produce for the season. Receiving a beautiful box of fresh produe every week from a local farm is a wonderful way to encourage healthy eating. Find a local CSA HERE
Skin Brush for Dry Brushing Gently detox every day by keeping the lymph moving. Additional benefits include skin exfoliation, clear pores, increased energy, and cellulite help.
Blue Blocking Glasses Exposure to blue light dramatically affects our ability to sleep. This simple (and CHEAP) little glasses do wonders for improved sleep and melatonin production. I wear mine any time I am on the computer after dark.
Glass Water Bottle Plastic water bottles create an enormous amount of environmental waste, and switching to reusable water bottles is great solution. Plus water tastes so much better out of glass. The silicone sleeve protects against breakage if dropped. Everyone needs one of these.
Cool Kitchen Apron One of the healthiest changes you can make is to start eating natural food cooked at home. This cute and stylish apron could inspire the most recalcitrant, takeout-loving gal to get in the kitchen and whip up a healthy meal. And it’s under $20!
Portable Infrared Sauna Sweating regularly in a sauna has countless health benefits. This portable infrared sauna makes it easy to do at home.
For Everyone Else
OK, so this is not the most creative gift, but most people do not need more useless stuff. Giving an Amazon gift card helps people get what they need and want. I personally like gift cards. They are practical. Useful. And perfect for lazy shoppers like you and me. You can select gift card options HERE.
Big love and gratitude to you all this holiday season. It’s not about what we buy for each other. It’s about the love and connection that we share.

I usually buy gift cards if I am not sure what to buy for someone. And, I plan on buying an Instant Pot for myself. 🙂
